About Oak Mountain Youth Football
Oak Mountain Youth Football is a part of the Jefferson Shelby Youth Football League (JSYFL), and we offer tackle football for grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th. Jefferson-Shelby Youth Football League is currently comprised of:

Frequently Asked Questions
When are practices?
Practices begin at the end of July each year and games begin the end of August and go through the end of October with playoffs and championship going thru mid-November. Practice schedules are determined by each grades coach and will be sent out once registration closes.
When are games?
Games are played on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday nights each week and the day could vary each week (Schedules are set by JSYFL and aren’t released until mid-August).
How much does it cost?
Tackle registration is $350 and includes operational costs, helmet rental, shoulder pad rental, game jersey, practice jersey, game pants, practice shirt and shorts. Registration opens in April each year and closes June 1st.

Onsite Fitting
All players must attend one onsite tackle fitting. These fittings will take place at the Heardmont Senior Center, on the following dates:
- May 2nd | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- May 17th | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
During your scheduled fitting, your player will be sized for:
- Game uniforms
- Practice clothes
- Helmet
- Shoulder pads
NEW THIS YEAR: We will be offering the opportunity to purchase a Guardian Helmet Cap/Cover.
- Cost: $75
- Payment must be made at the time of fitting.
- This is the only additional cost.
Please make sure all online waivers are completed prior to attending your fitting.
