About Oak Mountain Youth Cheerleading
Our Oak Mountain Youth Cheer program is offered for grades K – 6th grade. Kindergarten – 2nd grade squads all cheer for our flag football teams on Saturday mornings. Our 3rd – 6th grade squads all cheer for our tackle football teams on weeknights (Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday and will vary each week).
All squads have the opportunity to attend a day camp in July (this is optional and is an additional cost) and cheer clinic in early August (this is mandatory and where the girls will learn their halftime routines. This is included in their cheer registration fee).
Practices begin the first Sunday in August. All squads will practice on Sunday and possibly 1 additional weekday. Weekday practices are determined by each grades coach and will be communicated to you by the coach.
Games for Kindergarten – 2nd grade begin the Saturday after Labor Day and 3rd – 6th grade begins at the end of August. All seasons wrap up the end of October or mid-November.
All squads can compete in 1-2 local competitions in early November. It will be up to each squad’s coach whether they choose to do competition or not. Local competition participation is not required, but there is an additional cost involved (no more than $100).

How much does it cost?
Cheer Registration is $160 and includes operational costs, cheer bow, cheer clinic, practice facility rental, and the end of the season trophy.

*All Cheerleaders must have white cheer shoes. We will have an additional fitting at the end of the summer for anyone interested in ordering shoes then*
Onsite Fitting
All cheerleaders must attend 1 onsite cheer fitting. Please have your child wear a bathing suit or leotard, as they will be changing in front of other girls. 50% of the cheer payment will be due at the fitting. We do offer a payment plan. We accept cash, check, credit cards, and Venmo. Please make sure you have filled out your online waivers before you come to a fitting.
